KINLEY CINCINNATI DOWNTOWN, A TRIBUTE PORTFOLIO HOTEL

The Jeweler’s Exchange Building was originally constructed in the early 1900s and is located in Cincinnati’s Central Business District. Campo worked to convert this historic office building into a boutique hotel for the Tribute Portfolio by Marriott. Given the building’s historical significance, Campo served as the Historic Tax Credit Consultant as well as Architect of Record.

The hotel lobby and lounge features beautifully refinished terazzo floors. Ample glazing at the building’s corner makes for a luxurious yet residential feel in the King Corner guestrooms. The Kinley’s side facade features a large mural, which is part of a collection of public art displays throughout the neighborhoods of Cincinnati. The new canopy, a subtle but sophisticated feature, welcomes guests while reflecting on the building's life span. The new tie rods are attached to the building's cast iron base in the same location as the historical connections. All existing wood windows were repaired and repainted or replaced in-kind. In order to meet current building code requirements, new storm windows with mullions to match the historic openings were installed. New storefront windows match the original configuration, with 12-foot high bulkheads and tripartite divisions.
